The Canadian Cannabis Tourism Alliance Announces Results of Its Inaugural Annual General Meeting

Toronto, Ontario / November 2, 2022 – The Canadian Cannabis Tourism Alliance (“CCTA” or the “Alliance”), a federally incorporated Canadian not-for-profit organization focused on education and promotion of cannabis-centered tourism, is pleased to provide the voting results from its first Annual General Meeting (“AGM“) that was held virtually last night. A total of 32 voting Alliance members were present, representing 71.1% of CCTA’s total membership base. Members voted in favour of CCTA By-Laws and elected the Board of Directors, as follows:

Members of the previous leadership group known as the “Executive Team” , Rev. Kelly Addison, Anthony Carnevale, Susan Dupej PhD, Walid Farah, Thomas O'Neill, Jeremy Smith were all elected to the Board of Directors at the AGM. Additionally, a new member was elected to the Alliance’s leadership board, Karen Mariano.

Leadership Commentary

Anthony Carnevale said, “Our leadership team are proud to continue representing this organization and the important work we are doing in Ottawa and across every province in Canada. I would like to welcome Karen Mariano as a new director of our Alliance. Her expertise and experience in the Niagara cannabis industry are expected to add significant value to our leadership team. It is an exciting time for the CCTA and I am confident that the steps taken at our AGM will help to advance our mission and help legitimize our group. I would also like to thank the speakers, Elizabeth Becker, Chef Jordan Wagman, and George Smitherman who all provided unique insights and kind words of encouragement following our AGM during a special address to members.”
